The EXPEDITE project aims to create and deploy a new digital twin for real-time monitoring, visualization and management of energy flows at the district level. The project will provide a set of replicable modeling tools to enable stakeholders to analyze planning actions towards positive energy and climate neutrality in a cost-effective manner. The tools will be able to model district energy production and demand, building performance, optimize flexibility and simulate mobility and transport. The project will be applied to a district in Riga, Latvia, and will provide practical guidelines, reusable models, algorithms and training materials to help other cities replicate a digital twin for their districts that support widespread adoption of sustainable energy practices.
Project implementation began on January 1, 2024.
